In this 7-week Autumn Session, starting 16th October 2019, you will explore these questions and learn how to transform a classroom-based educational program or workshop into an online course. You will be guided through a 7-step methodology which includes tools and exercises to consider your target audiences and their learning needs, produce a course outline, develop strategies to create and sustain a related online community, and generate ideas for marketing, promotion, and new income streams. Our method, the 7 Guiding Steps, is grounded in more than a decade of applied educational research and experience in online education.

This course takes includes the following:

  • Self-paced weekly assignments and worksheets with the goal of having a completed draft course design,
  • Live, weekly webinars with the instructor to present the materials and address Q&A (7 hours total).
  • Toolkits to support interactive team work to support course development at your organization
  • Recommended readings and resources for course implementation, assessment, marketing and sales.
  • Online discussion forum for small-group interaction (maximum enrollment for this course is 15).

How is the course structured?

Materials for each week are published on Monday, including readings, worksheets, and assignments which you can read online or download. Live group webinar sessions take place on Wednesdays. Each live session is 60 minutes and includes time for a live Q&A with the group (maximum 15 people). Those who cannot join live will have access to webinar recordings and are invited to submit any questions in the course room. Recordings of the call are made available to participants within 24 hours.

For this autumn session, calls take place on Wednesdays at 10:00 Central European Time / 13.30 Indian Standard Time / 16:00 China Standard Time (accommodating European and Asian time zones) at the following times:
